My name is Henry, a graduate from Salisbury University (Perdue School of Business). While attending Salisbury I was afforded multiple opportunities, one of which was participating in Target’s internship program. Prior to pursuing an internship with Target, I was offered an opportunity to intern for another company. This presented a major challenge for me, because I wanted to make the right decision. I began to research both companies, and what really stuck out to me about Target were their inclusive culture, focus on training and development, and the opportunity for growth. When I completed my Target internship, I had learned so much about how to be a leader and how to develop the individuals who report to me. It was an amazing experience and I didn’t want it to end.
While interning with Target I was offered the opportunity to become a Campus Liaison which means I would be a representative for Target campus recruiting at my University. This really sparked my interest because I was very involved on campus and wanted to spread the word to everyone about how great it is to work at Target. Shortly after I started as a liaison and concluded my internship I received a phone call that may have very well changed my life. Target human resources called me to extend an offer to become an Executive Team Leader. In awe and excitement of the news, I was very eager to spread the word to any and every one about why they should choose Target. Going into my senior year, I was stress free when it came to the question “Where will I work after graduation?” I already knew – Target!
I have been working at Target for going on 3 years, and during that time I have been promoted from an intern to a Manager of the Sales Floor to a Manager of Logistics. I have also been selected as a Campus Recruiting Leader where I’m given the opportunity to go to campuses and spread my knowledge of the Target business and career opportunities. I look back at my career and I know that my life is changed for the better because I selected Target as my career.
